In Memory of Chuck Barris

American game show host, creator, and producer, Chuck Barris sadly passed away this past Tuesday. He hosted The Gong Show, The Dating Game, and The Newlywed Game. He was also a part-time songwriter and an author of his autobiography. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, attended the Drexel Institute of Technology, where he graduated in 1953. He first started with television in NBC in New York City, and then became a music producer. Later, he was promoted to ABC in Los Angeles. He was diagnosed with cancer in the 90s and had to get a procedure to remove a part of his lungs. However, he contracted an infection and spent a month in the ICU. Chuck Barris died of natural causes and people will forever remember him for his high energy and kind soul.
