Last Sunday, the Orlando City Football club opened up their brand new stadium. It seats 25,500 people and has a designated standing area for unveiling smoke bombs which is a first for MLS. It also has 49 seats that are rainbow colors that are in tribute for all of the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting back in June of 2016. They opened the stadium with a game against the New York FC. Orlando City player Cyle Larin scored the stadium’s first goal and it was the only goal scored in the game. The crowd was filled with purple smoke after the goal due to the new smoke bombs. Orlando City went on to win the game. The season and stadium opener was a success for Orlando City.
