The El Diamante Miners headed to Central Valley Christian on March 1, 2017 for their first track meet this season. The Miners placed atop the podium in multiple events for both men and women.
Junior, Madison Flores, placed 1st in the 100 meter dash posting a Personal Record of 12.98a. She placed 1st in the 200 meter dash as well. Freshman, Cameron Beans, displayed his potential placing 1st in the 200 meter dash and the 4×100 meter dash along with Isaiah Rivas, Daniel Arias, and Antonio Padilla. Another freshman who was atop the podium was Layla Smith Anderson who runs the 1600 meter race. Jacob Perez also placed 1st in his event (800 meters) with a time of 2:05.35a. He hopes to repeat as a WYL champion this year. The Miner’s next track meet is the Pioneer Invitational on March 11, 2017.
