The El Diamante Miners (3-1) took on the Hanford West Huskies (5-0) at Hanford last Thursday night. In the first set, the Miners went down early, but they fought their way back up to only lose 25-23. In the second set, the Huskies took an early lead of 13-4 and continued to dominate with the score of 19-6. The Lady Miners rallied back and were only down 22-19. The Huskies managed to hold on and win the second set with a score of 25-22. The Miners went up early in the third set with the score of 8-4. The Lady Miners continued fighting and stayed up with a score of 16-10. The Huskies came from behind and tied the game up at 19. There were many lead changes in the next few points, and the Miners managed to tie it up at 24 forcing the game to two more points thus inspiring a momentum change for themselves. On the next point, there was a controversial no-touch call on the block in the Huskies favor. This point led them to win the game with a score of 26-24, While they fought hard, the Lady Miners just couldn’t pull away with the win.
