Adidas is offering one million dollars to any prospect that can break the 40 yard dash record. The company announced this on Tuesday, February 9th and according to the official terms and conditions, only athletes that wear Adidas are eligible for the money prize. At last years combine, the combine happens every year and is where college football players perform physical and mental tests in front of NFL coaches, general managers, and scouts. the company rewarded the three fastest times $100,000 a piece. The current record is held by running back Chris Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals with a time of 4.24 seconds. Many players have came close to beating his time but have yet to top it. In 2014, Dri Archer ran a 4.26 tying wide receiver Jerome Mathis record from 2005. Other notable players are Marquise Goodwin with 4.27 seconds and Jacoby Ford with 4.28 seconds. After offering this amount of money, expect many players to try and beat Chris Johnson’s record of 4.24 seconds.
