Boys Soccer 2/9 & 2/10

On Tuesday, February 9, El Diamante’s boys soccer team played against Hanford West at Hanford West. The boys lost, leaving their overall record at 14-8-3 and league record at 6-3-2. Hanford West scored twice in the first half, and El Diamante scored once in the first half, leaving them trailing by one going into the second half. In the second half, Hanford West scored again, putting them up by two. El Diamante was unable to put any more points in and lost 1-3. The boys will play at home against Golden West next Wednesday, on February 10, at 5:00 PM.

 

On Wednesday, February 10, El Diamante’s boys soccer team played against Golden West at home. The boys lost, finishing their season off with an overall record of 14-9-3 and league record of 6-4-2. Both teams struggled to score in the first half. However, in the second half, Golden West was awarded a penalty kick that was converted, which put them up by one over El Diamante. Shortly after the converted penalty, Golden West was able to put in another goal. The boys were unable to put any points on the board and finished the game at 0-2. Despite the loss, the boys were able to clinch a playoff spot and will play against Reedley on February 18.
