The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 2 was definitely a big hit, and the best seller for the month of December. People camped outside the movie theaters for a week just to see this movie! The box offices for the month of December crossed $600 million. The four Hunger Games movies combined grossed over $2.9 billion at the global box offices. The movie went above $300 million at the worldwide box office on Nov. 25th, a week after its first showings. It also made $102.7 million in its first weekend! It turned out to be the fifth best showing movie around the time it came out, but it is no longer number 5. The director of the film Francis Lawrence stated in an interview with MTV news, “I have to say, the end, there’s something great about this; that there’s real closure. We’re not ending with the promise of another movie, this is the final one. You feel it, and there’s something satisfying about that. I think it’s really emotional and moving”. The first film mainly focused on the political nuances, rather than war, like the second part and also mainly took place in the claustrophobic confines of a bunker. The second part took place in numerous places such as the capitol, and all over Panem. But, overall, According to those who have seen the movie, the movie is a dramatic thriller that will get you on the edge of your seat. According to Lawrence, you will experience many different emotions. One moment you will be happy, the next you will be sobbing about the event taking place. Maybe you might even feel frustrated at some point.
