On Thursday, August 27, 2015, the El Diamante JV football team defeated the Redskins 42-34. The Miners started off the season with a strong running back and continued to hold the Redskins’ offense to prevent further touchdowns. The Miners brought home a victory in honor of Jayce Tippit, number forty-two. The varsity football team came onto the field ready to work hard in honor of their fallen teammate, knowing that Jayce will always be cheering for his football brothers from above. Unfortunately, the game started out rough for the Miners due to the Redskins’ strong running back. In the second quarter, the Miners came back with a score of 7-14, starting out an intense game. The Miners had a difficult time holding the Redskins’ fast offense, ending the game with a score of 14-41. The Green Sea cheered on the Miner football team with pride and honor.
