Rosie O’Donnell’s Daughter

Staff Writer

On Tuesday August 11th, Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter, Chelsea O’Donnell, went missing. She was found a week later in a man’s attic after the authorities tracked the signal from her mobile phone. The 17 year old girl has a mental illness that remains unknown to the public. This requires her to take daily medication and have a therapy dog. When she ran away she did not take her medicine with her, but she did take her dog. When she left, she went to a man’s house named Steven Sheerer. He has an arrest record with multiple charges such as driving while intoxicated, heroin possession, and disorderly conduct. Steven and Chelsea had been communicating for several weeks prior to Chelsea’s disappearance. When the police arrived at Sheerer’s house, he initially refused to let them in, but once they forcefully entered, they found Rosie O’Donnell’s daughter, Chelsea, huddled in the attic with her therapy dog, Bear. After the Police arrested Sheerer, they obtained Chelsea’s cell phone and stated that there had been “inappropriate communication” between the two. They have reported that 25 year old Sheerer, sent a “nude photo” to the 17 year old. It is still not clearly stated exactly what Chelsea’s intentions were when she ran away, however the authorities have taken Sheerer into custody and he is currently facing charges of child endangerment and distribution of obscenity to a minor. He could face up to 10 years in prison and is currently at a $40,000 bail. Rosie has given no comment on any of the events pertaining to her daughter in the past week, except for a tweet stating “chelsea has been found and is safe in police custody – thank u all for the help and light #missingchildren”.
