Last Friday the El Diamante Miners traveled to Porterville for a track meet at Monache against all of the schools in Tulare County . It was a cloudy day and it was perfect running weather for our team.

Darius Liles earned himself a silver medal for second place after he got a 46.2 foot throw for shot put. Jacob Bilvado held the first Tulare County record for his mile run. It is worth noting that Bilvado signed with the Air Force Academy earlier this week.

The relay team that consists of JC Robles, Dayson Smith, Michael Arias and Julian Barcenas won first place. They told The Dig, “Our new motto is #SlowFeetDontEat”. The relay team has been placing in the top three finishes the whole season.

Track is now waiting for the biggest team meet of the season, WYL. This will be the last meet for some of the athletes as only a few will continue onto WYL. The meet is on May 8th at Mt Whitney. Go cheer on our fellow Miners!
