This last Wednesday our Miners went up against Hanford and accomplished yet another shutout game with the final score being 9-0. It’s a sight to see this team’s excitement for one another’s achievements and their ability to hype up the crowd! The crowd seems to grow with each impressive win. The bleachers were overfilled with peers, staff, and family members of the Miners.

Throughout the entire game the Miners repeatedly put on successful plays such as; Eean Mexicano who went 2 for 4 with a double and a single. Carter Hoffman went 4 for 4 with three doubles, and Isaiah Espinoza went 2 for 3 with two RBI. Nathan Cavagnaro kept Hanford in their dug out by pitching a complete game shutout. Another outstanding moment for the Miners was when Adam Munoz hit his fourth home run this season! It’s the beginning of the season, but the Miner’s impressive start is placing them on a pedestal for the remainder of their games and tournaments.

Austin Ayers commented on his teams success, “2 and 0 is a great accomplishment at the start of the season, but we cannot let it go to our heads. We must finish as strong as we started.” El Diamante baseball plays again this upcoming Friday against their rivals the Redwood Rangers at Recreation Park. Go out and support your Miner champions!
