Brian Williams has reported the news for NBC for decades. Recently he has found himself in the news, because lies he may have told during his career. While Williams was in Iraq he reported that he was in a helicopter that was shot at from a RPG, Rocket Propelled Grenade. — “We were in some helicopters. What we didn’t know was, we were north of the invasion. We were the northernmost Americans in Iraq. We were going to drop some bridge portions across the Euphrates so the Third Infantry could cross on them. Two of the four helicopters were hit, by ground fire, including the one I was in, RPG and AK-47.” —Williams to Letterman on March 26, 2013 — PolitiFact. Now soldiers that were with him have come out and said that what he said is false.
Now more lies are being uncovered from his past. During Hurricane Katrina, Williams reported : — “All of us watched [in the Superdome] as one man committed suicide.” — Williams to Tom Brokaw, at Columbia University in 2013. Which people now are saying is false and they did not see such a thing.
Williams lies have caught up with him and now he is paying the price. He has already stepped down from his position at NBC and now his credibility is slim to none. Williams has allegedly lied about some of his stories to create a more exciting news story when he should have just reported the news on what was happening.
